CHAPTER V: MISTS OF THE ABYSS
Atmospheric Ghosts and Ethereal Vapors
The Great Trench is not just a place of mud and iron; it is a place of ghosts. 1914: Mists of the Abyss is a specialized collection of "Ghost-Greys" and atmospheric glazes. It is engineered for painters who wish to depict the spectral apparitions of the fallen, the thick supernatural fog that rolls across No Man’s Land, and the bone-chilling cold of the deep bunkers.
These colors are designed to work together to create depth and "glow" effects (OSL), allowing you to paint the invisible and the ethereal with physical precision.
The Ethereal Manifest: Inside Set V
TRENCH GHOST (Light Warm Grey) A desaturated, ghostly pale grey. Spirits, tattered rags, cold skin.
MUSTARD GAS (Yellow Ochre) A sickly, brownish-green. Toxic clouds, chemical warfare gear.
CORRODED LITANY (Bright Turquoise) A chalky, pale sea-foam green. Oxidation on brass icons and statues.
VOID SOUL (Transparent Blue) A ethereal, thin sapphire glaze. Energy glows, cooling metal, ghosts.
ASH OF THE INNOCENT (Blue Ash Grey) Light, blue-tinted ash grey. Scorched earth, cigarette ash, smoke.
Why Paint the Mist?
"In the Abyss, you don't hear the bullet that kills you. You only hear the whisper of the fog that comes to collect what's left."
Atmospheric Blending: Formulated for smooth transitions, making it easier to paint fog and smoke effects even for intermediate painters.
Cold Palette: Specifically tuned to a "Cool" temperature, providing a perfect visual balance to the "Hot" rust and blood of Set III.
Spectral Highlighting: High-pigment whites and blues allow for sharp, "glowing" highlights on spectral entities.
