Undercoat black, build up the cold blue-grey armour, sink the recesses with a matched ink, catch the edges with a paler grey, then pick out the steel. 1. 1Undercoat. Prime the model black to kill the plastic sheen and give the grey above it depth.
2. 2Base the armour. Lay in the cold blue-grey, two thin coats for a smooth, even finish.
3. 3Shade. Pull Indigo ink into the recesses to cool the grey into deep shadow.
4. 4Highlight. Catch the raised edges with a paler grey to make the armour read on the table.
5. 5Metal. Pick out blades and detail in silver, and the trooper is done.
