Everything you need to take a deep-green power-armoured trooper from bare plastic to battle-ready, and the brushes to do it with. Twelve matched paints, two warcolours brushes, one clean workflow. Priced under the big-brand starter box while giving you more paint and better coverage.

Start with the armour: undercoat, a really dark green base, a matched ink sunk into the recesses, then a two-stage highlight that lifts the plates out of shadow. Then the details, all drawn from the same forest palette: emerald robes and gems, olive leather and wood, glowing turquoise lenses, and bone for skulls and parchment, with silver and gold for blades and trim.

Every bottle is printed with an opacity marking, so you are never guessing whether a colour covers in one pass or two. The selection is not random. It is built on the warcolours colour wheel, so the shade, layers and accents are analogous neighbours that blend the way they should. High-pigment, water-based acrylic in dropper bottles, plus a base-layer brush and a detail brush to put it all down.

1. 1Undercoat. Prime black for depth, white where you want detail colours to sing.
2. 2Base and shade the armour. Deep green in two thin coats, then Indigo ink drawn into the recesses.
3. 3Two-stage highlight. Build the edges up through Green 3, then Green 2 to lift the plates out of shadow.
4. 4Metals. Silver for blades, antique gold for trim.
5. 5Details. Emerald robes and gems, olive leather and wood, glowing turquoise lenses, bone skulls, white for the final sparkle.
