Everything you need to wake a warrior of deathless metal from bare plastic to the tabletop, and the brushes to do it with. Twelve matched paints, two warcolours brushes, one clean workflow. Priced under the big-brand starter box while giving you more paint and better coverage.

Start with the body: undercoat, a bright metal base, darker gunmetal on the barrels, then a matched ink sunk into the recesses to tarnish it like something ten thousand years old. Weather it with grime, catch the edges in bright silver, and pick out gold and brass. Then the part that matters most, the cold green glow: built from a deep base up to a burning tip, so the light looks like it comes from within.

Every bottle is printed with an opacity marking, so you are never guessing whether a colour covers in one pass or two. The selection is not random. It is built on the warcolours colour wheel, so the metals, glow and grime work together instead of fighting each other. High-pigment, water-based acrylic in dropper bottles, plus a base-layer brush and a detail brush to put it all down.

1. 1Undercoat. Prime the model black to give the metal above it depth.
2. 2Base the metal. Silver across the body, darker Lead on gun barrels and inner mechanism.
3. 3Shade and weather. Black ink in the recesses to tarnish, Sepia for tomb-grime and rust.
4. 4Highlight and trim. Bright silver on the sharpest edges, gold and copper on symbols, casings and cabling.
5. 5The glow. Deep green in the coils, fluorescent green over it, a burning bright tip, all over a white underpaint so it reads as light.
